The #1 Pure Play OpenDaylight company will showcase how to leverage the project for network innovation

Today, Inocybe Technologies Inc., the #1 pure play OpenDaylight company, released details regarding its upcoming participation at the OpenDaylight Summit Santa Clara 2015, an annual conference for developers, users, and administrators of OpenDaylight SDN Platform.

At the conference, Inocybe Technologies, a gold sponsor of the event, will participate in multiple sessions including discussions on the community, the use cases, and the future of intent-based networking and its impact on SDN platforms. Additionally, Inocybe Technologies will have two demonstrations at the demo theater located in the Grand Ballroom as well as demos and information at booth-space 102.

Session Highlights:

Navigating through the OpenDaylight Projects
Speaker: Mathieu Lemay, Inocybe Technologies
When: Tuesday, July 28 • 1:30pm - 2:20pm
Where: Grand Ballroom E
Details: OpenDaylight's third platform release "Lithium" has grown and led to the creation of many new projects. As the project grows it is time to provide tools to navigate and understand the ecosystem. Inocybe is launching a new community tool called OpenDaylight Project Explorer that allows people to get a better understanding of the project ecosystem provided by the OpenDaylight Project.

The New and Improved DLUX – A New UI for OpenDaylight
Speaker: Mathieu Lemay, Inocybe Technologies
When: Tuesday July 28, 2015 2:30pm - 3:20pm
Where: Grand Ballroom B
Details: DLUX has been the default user interface since the Helium release. For Lithium, we are releasing a new and improved user interface. This presentation goes over the latest features available via the user interface created in Lithium and covers how to use it to do a variety of management use cases within OpenDaylight. Moreover, it also covers the creation process required to extend this use interface and seeks additional input from users on how they would like to see the next generation user interface evolve in the future.

MDSAL Runtime Usability
Speaker : Gabriel Robitaille-Montpetit, Inocybe Technologies
When: Tuesday, July 28 • 4:50pm - 5:40pm
Where: Grand Ballroom A
Details: The talk will be about how Runtime features and bundles can be managed within Karaf along with its relationship with the config subsystem. The talk will include two subjects, the first being how features and bundles can be tracked by using a simple Directed Acyclic Graph which could be stored in MDSAL. The second will discuss the possibility of cleaning up orphans nodes from the MDSAL tree after features have been uninstalled from the OSGI context in order to ensure that things do now break as the components are turned on or off at runtime. This will go over a current solution implemented in Lithium as well as the proposed enhanced solution that will be available in the Beryllium time frame.

OpenDaylight in the Trenches - Common Use Cases
Speaker: Mathieu Lemay, Inocybe Technologies
When: Wednesday, July 29 • 12:30pm - 1:20pm
Where: Grand Ballroom C
Details:OpenDaylight has grown since its inception. However, with this growing number of components it becomes hard to know what to expect from OpenDaylight. In this talk we will go over a variety of use cases that can be achieved using OpenDaylight. For each use case, it will go over the required project components and features that are necessary and have to be enabled within OpenDaylight to provide the proper functionality. This presentation covers the typical use cases found in NFV, Network Virtualization, Clouds Management Systems but also ventures into more advanced use cases like distributed routers, SDN-enabled Internet Exchanges and Bandwidth on Demand. The purpose of this talk is to tell the story of how OpenDaylight has been used but also inspire you to innovate within the OpenDaylight ecosystem.

Creating Portable SDN Applications for OpenDaylight
Speaker: Mathieu Lemay, Inocybe Technologies
When: Wednesday, July 29 • 1:30pm - 2:20pm
Where: Grand Ballroom D
This talk goes over how to use Intent based compiler prototype from the ONF to write SDN applications that are portable across different controller runtimes. The intents and applications provide the ability to describe high level network logic that can be enforced and executed by a proper controller runtime. This specific runtime has been implement within OpenDaylight by the newly created Network Intent Composition and it advertises the proper primitives required to express application-level functionality. The applications can be written in any orthogonal domain specific languages which also makes it portable across other SDN controllers such as ONOS or Ryu. This runtime also makes it easier to write applications without directly interacting with wire protocols like OpenFlow or Netconf.

From Darkness to Daylight: Pure Play OpenDaylight
Speaker: Alexis De Talhouet, Inocybe Technologies
Where: Demo Theater – Grand Ballroom FGH
When: Tuesday July 28, 2015 3:30pm - 3:50pm
Details: In this Demonstration we will showcase Inocybe's OpenDaylight distribution and the different tools available which makes it easy and simple for service providers, vendors and end-users to leverage it commercially in their products, services or hardware appliances.

Demo Theater: ONF & Inocybe - OSSDN Boulder Project - Writing Intent-based Applications
Speaker: Benjamin Eze, Inocybe Technologies
Where: Demo Theater – Grand Ballroom FGH
When:Tuesday, July 28 • 5:00pm - 5:20pm
Details: In the demonstration we will outline the OpenSourceSDN Boulder Project, a project funded by ONF to start some tools around having the ability to write portable intent-based applications capable of leveraging different controller frameworks with the same grammar. This initial implementation, leverages the OpenDaylight NIC project and the Group-Based Policy component in order to showcase how intent applications can be written used exposed grammar and a scripting language.

Demo Theater: CableLabs & Inocybe: OpenDaylight's Virtual CPE Demonstration
Speaker: Mufaddal Makati, CableLabs and Gabriel Robitaille-Montpetit, Inocybe Technologies
Where: Demo Theater – Grand Ballroom FGH
When:Wednesday, July 29 • 3:30pm - 3:50pm
Details: The Virtualized Business CPE proof-of-concept demonstrates the use of a proposed new OpenDaylight MD-SAL feature plug-in and northbound APIs developed by CableLabs and Inocybe to use OpenDaylight and its OVSDB southbound plug-in to configure a point-to-point Ethernet connection emulating Ethernet Private Line (EPL) service. A laptop running Ubuntu Linux emulates a cloud server running OpenDaylight and the APIs and the two Raspberry Pis serve as hosts for Network Interface Device (NID) functionality at each of two customer locations. The Pis are each running an instance of Open vSwitch, which will be configured using Open Daylight and its OVSDB southbound plug-in.
