SAE International Honors Rafael Barkas with the SAE Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) July 27, 2015 -- Rafael Barkas was honored with the SAE Environmental Excellence in Transportation (E2T) Award during the 2015 SAE World Congress.
The Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award recognizes an individual or groups of individuals who through their ingenuity and dedication make significant innovations in reducing the environmental impact caused by the transportation industry.
Barkas is currently the Director of Business Development at Harman International. His project, titled “HALOsonic” is a technology harness that powers a car’s audio system to transform the driving experience in an exciting new way.
The benefits of HALOsonic™ extend to the driver, passengers and automobile manufacturer. They include but are not limited to reduction of interior noise, reduced CO2 emissions due to improved mileage, improved safety for pedestrians and others in close proximity to hybrid/electric cars on the street, and reduction in manufacturing/design costs.
