A July 13 article from The Daily Mail titled "Jab That Could Kill Back Pain: Injection of Stem Cells Found to Release Natural Painkiller That Can Last 'For Five Weeks'" discusses the use of stem cells to help relieve back pain in patients. According to the report, the new study showed that harvesting stem cell-rich bone marrow from the hip, known as bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs), and injecting it into vertebral discs can help to repair the worn down discs and relieve lower back pain without surgery.
