More than 4,400 kids' mobile educational apps and games now can be filtered by languages they support.

Balefire Labs, Inc ( -- provider of free educational app & game reviews for teachers and parents-- announced today that its online service has expanded to allow users to search for resources according to the languages that they support.

"When we launched this service two years ago we planned to support the United States and Canadian markets,” said Karen L. Mahon, Ed.D., President and Founder of Balefire Labs. "We've been surprised and gratified by how many international users have joined our site since then."

With the expansion of languages announced today, users can search for resources that support English, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish or Turkish language. A language must have at least 50 top-rated apps in order to be added to the Balefire Labs site; it is anticipated that additional languages will be available in the next year. Balefire Labs reviews the English version only of each app. Inclusion of an app in other language categories is based on developer-provided information.

"We've been looking forward to a time when we could more effectively support teachers and parents in non-English speaking markets as they try to find the most effective apps and games for their kids. Today we've realized this goal,” explains Mahon. "We think the ability to filter our recommended apps by language will save time for teachers and parents in many corners of the globe."

By simply registering for an account, anyone can access all of Balefire Labs' more than 4,400 reviews of educational apps, including more than 400 puzzler and serious games. There is no fee for registration.
