Greenberg Traurig’s Jamie Moore Marcario Appointed Co-Chair of Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Committee
TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- Jamie Moore Marcario, an associate in the Tampa Labor & Employment practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed Co-Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Committee.
Marcario will serve alongside Dee Anna Hays as Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Committee. Together, they will develop and coordinate CLEs focused on emerging labor and employment issues, plan and organize special events, and spearhead community service projects. The purpose of the HCBA L&E Committee is to inform and advise the HCBA membership of the developing rules and regulations issued by the Department of Labor, emerging case law under the National Labor Relations Act, new guidelines and precedent issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and developments in the constitutional and common law that govern other client-facing employment matters.
The HCBA L&E Committee also offers members the opportunity to meet and work with colleagues in the labor & employment law field, develop professional relationships, and, when appropriate, join forces to influence policy makers and regulators. The Committee meets regularly throughout the year and publishes articles on relevant labor and employment topics in the HCBA’s Lawyer Magazine.
“Jamie is an excellent choice to Co-Chair the Labor & Employment Committee and her leadership will benefit her colleagues in the labor and employment bar.” said Pete Zinober, Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s global Labor & Employment practice, and who mentors Marcario in Tampa. “Greenberg Traurig is pleased to play an active role in supporting the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s programs, which provide great value to its members.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the members of the Hillsborough County Bar Association as Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Committee,” said Marcario. “I look forward to working with my Co-Chair, Dee Anna Hays, and my fellow members to continue the success and growth of this committee. I encourage all committee members to get involved, submit articles for possible publication, or simply participate in the timely, topical CLEs planned for this year.”
At Greenberg Traurig, Marcario focuses her practice on labor and employment law, with an emphasis on defending employment discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and civil rights cases in state and federal courts. She also represents clients before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Florida Commission on Human Relations, and National Labor Relations Board.
