The Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute (MCVI) has opened its new Total Heart Center at Memorial Regional Hospital, providing expert, streamlined total advanced heart care for the South Florida community.

The institute’s new 19,000-square-foot center will be suited to provide extensive heart services under one roof, including the treatment of advanced heart failure, adult heart transplant, left ventricular assist device management, echocardiograms, metabolic stress testing, infusion and pulmonary function testing.

Patients with advanced heart failure can receive individualized care plans and meet their care teams in one visit, rather than visiting multiple locations and prolonging care.

With the approach of “total heart care,” members of the multidisciplinary care teams can easily consult and collaborate with one another to provide the most comprehensive, plan of care and services to patients.

In addition to the Total Heart Center in Hollywood at Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute also have cardiologists, imaging services and cardiac catheterization labs at Memorial Hospital West as an extension of their services to care for patients in the western communities.

Features of the Total Heart Center include:

A new clinical area, with a central entrance conveniently located in the main corridor down the hallway from the gift shop.

A highly educated team led by advanced practice staff, who can provide seamless access to care.

Cardiac diagnostic services, including echocardiograms, EKGs and stress testing.

Access to groundbreaking clinical trials and advanced therapies.

Support groups for transplant and VAD patients.

“Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute is pleased to offer patients a one-stop shop for advanced heart failure care services,” says Michele Slane, Vice President of Cardiac and Vascular Institute, Memorial Healthcare System. “Convenient access to care by our highly qualified team of cardiac specialists will enhance the experience of both patients and families.”
