Almaden Country School Earns an A+ - San Jose Independent School Receives Full Accreditation from California Association of Independent Schools
San Jose, California (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- The California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) recently granted the maximum seven-year status of accreditation to Almaden Country School.
“We are extremely proud to receive a seven-year accreditation from CAIS,” said Olaf Jorgenson, EdD, head of school. “There is no more rigorous accreditation process for independent schools and receiving full term reflects the talent of the school’s faculty, the strength of our close-knit community, and the incredible learning and care our teachers provide for our students.”
Following an intensive three-day visit, the accreditation committee provided specific feedback to Almaden Country School staff and prepared a report for the Elementary Board of Standards and Board of Directors of CAIS. Based on their findings, the Elementary Board of Standards recommended the term of accreditation with seven years being the maximum allowed.
With the successful accreditation, Almaden Country School is now a full member of CAIS, and takes its place among the 200 top independent schools in the state.
There are 219 member schools with 202 having full accreditation and ACS is among them. CAIS schools represent more than 90,000 students across the Golden State. The nonprofit serves and strengthens its schools by setting standards of academic quality and ethical conduct, by providing for the professional growth of faculty, administrators, and trustees, and by promoting ethnic and socio-economic diversity.
"I went to ACS more than 20 years ago and as a student, I just loved the school and didn't understand accreditation," said Jennifer Hull, alumni, current parent and director for the school. "Now that I'm a parent and administrator for ACS, I understand that a CAIS accreditation is like a gold star for the school and I couldn't be happier or more proud."
