MacMurray Estate Vineyards Hosts 36th Annual Taste of Sonoma
Sonoma County, CA (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- In what has become a Sonoma County tradition, the Russian River Valley’s historic and private MacMurray Estate Vineyards will open its gates to host Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate Vineyards on Saturday, September 5, 2015. The popular event featuring regional culinary standouts, vintners and sommelier stars has become a not-to-be-missed affair on the grounds of the gracious MacMurray estate. Tickets are on sale now at SonomaWineCountryWeekend.com.
A cornerstone of Sonoma County’s premier wine and epicurean experience—Sonoma Wine Country Weekend—Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate Vineyards includes wine seminars, blind tastings and a Sonoma County harvest simulation as well as opportunities to taste delectable farm-to-table cuisine and a diverse selection of award-winning Sonoma wines.
“This is a wonderful gathering of gifted local wine and food artisans, who lend their talents to ensure that the Taste of Sonoma at MacMurray Estate Vineyards is an incredible event,” said Kate MacMurray, spokesperson for the wines and estate. “And for those who love wine and food, this is the day that truly highlights the bounty of Sonoma County. I’m thrilled to host Taste of Sonoma again this year among the vines at our beautiful MacMurray Ranch Vineyard.”
Deeply rooted in Sonoma County, the picturesque MacMurray Ranch Vineyard is among the Russian River Valley’s most acclaimed Pinot Noir vineyards. Today home to towering conifers, historic structures and vineyards spread across two distinct micro-climates, the property has been in agricultural production for over 150 years. Pinot Noir vines were first planted in 1996, marking a new beginning for the historic estate as a world-class vineyard.
“We are honored to partner with MacMurray Estate Vineyards and to have the opportunity to invite our Taste of Sonoma guests to experience this private estate that truly showcases the incredible beauty of Sonoma County,” said Maureen Cottingham, Co-Executive Director, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend. “The property’s deep roots and breathtaking location in the heart of Russian River Valley provide an amazing setting for the afternoon events,” said Carolyn Stark, Co-Executive Director, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend. “And as Taste of Sonoma is the only time members of the general public are invited to visit this estate, it offers guests a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience."
Named one of America’s top three wine charity fundraisers, Sonoma Wine Country Weekend has raised more than $16 million for local charities in support of children, the environment and health.
