MOVIEQU, First Movie Trailer Recognition App, Launches
New York, New York (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- MOVIEQU, the first app to identify a movie trailer using sound-recognition, launches today. Activated by a single touch, MOVIEQU listens, recognizes a trailer, syncs the release date with the user’s calendar, and links to social media to show which friends MOVIEQU’d the same film. With the same one touch, users can delete movies from their QUs, which automatically wipes the release date from their calendar. As users continue to MOVIEQU films, the app learns preferences and makes suggestions under the “Recommended” tab, which showcases the integrated Rotten Tomatoes™ poster art and synopsis. The app, which is now available on iOS, will keep moviegoers engaged in films long after they’ve left the theaters.
Once activated, MOVIEQU’s logo begins pulsating to signal it’s listening to the trailer playing. The Rotten Tomatoes™ poster art is immediately displayed on users’ phones, and if tapped reveals the movie’s trailer and a synopsis. MOVIEQU also allows users to search for upcoming or released independent, international, and blockbuster films, making it easy to discover new movies without having to recognize their trailers. “I noticed I’d be really into a trailer, tell my friend I’m definitely going to go see that, and forget about it the minute the feature film came on,” says CEO Rakesh Nigam on how he came up with the idea. Nigam and co-founder Allison Silver set out to fix the issue that plagues them and other moviegoers nationwide: forgetfulness.
MOVIEQU doesn’t stop at sound-recognition; the app has partnered with DealFlicks to show locations where ticket deals are available. Silver says, “We want it to be the one-stop shop for people to learn more about the films they want to see, or ones they haven’t even discovered yet.” MOVIEQU’s trailer recognition, movie recommendations, social media capabilities and ticket-deals partnership make it the all-inclusive movie going app.
