Gun Rights Group Launches Crowdfunding Campaign, Plans to Give Away Guns- Second Amendment Group Says More Guns in the Hands of Law-abiding Citizens Deters Crime
Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- The U.S. Gun Rights Association (USGRA) has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo and plans to use a large portion of the funds collected to give away free firearms.
USGRA President Bill Kendall says they have already given away three guns this year but they plan to give away many more if their campaign is successful. "So far in 2015, we have given away a Para Black Ops 1911 style pistol, a Smith & Wesson AR-15 and a Springfield Armory XD(m) 9mm pistol. Our current gun giveaway involves a Sig Sauer Scorpion 1911 style pistol."
According to Kendall, winners of all firearms are subject to the appropriate background check*: "We do not give away firearms to criminals. The firearms are delivered to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer located near the winner and that dealer performs the proper background check before releasing the firearm."
With the upcoming presidential election and stories such as the shootings in Chattanooga Tennessee currently in the news, gun control is a very hot topic. Kendall says that more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens will make the U.S. safer. "Imagine a world where criminals have to think twice before shooting up a movie theater or military recruiting office. If they know that there is a very good chance that they will be on the receiving end of gunfire, that's a significant deterrent for them to not commit these heinous crimes."

- Per Mr. Kendall, U.S. Gun Rights Association has legal approval to operate sweepstakes in accordance with Texas and federal regulations. All sweepstakes winners are subject to background checks by an FFL dealer before firearm is released to the winner. In the event that a winner does not pass the background check, another winner is randomly chosen and the entire process is repeated. Full Sweepstakes Rules can be found here: rules.
