SAE International Honors Harry L. Husted with the Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- Harry L. Husted was honored with the SAE International Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award. He received the award during the Awards Ceremony at the SAE 2015 World Congress.
The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding presentation skills. The intent of the award is to maintain a high level of presentations at SAE International technical sessions by recognizing individuals who make outstanding presentations at those sessions. The recipient must have received the Oral Presentation Award more than twice to receive this award.
Mr. Husted is Executive Director, Powertrain Electronics at Delphi Powertrain Systems, where he leads a global team in developing and implementing gasoline and diesel powertrain electronics for a diverse customer base.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Husted was Technical Fellow and Chief Engineer of Powertrain Integration & Controls at Delphi, leading a global team for gasoline and flex-fuel engine management systems development. From 2006 to 2009 he managed the Advanced Gasoline Direct Injection group at Delphi’s Technical Center in Luxembourg. He also led the development of a lean, spray-stratified engine management system.
During prior assignments with the company in the United States he has worked on a variety of technologies, including engine control electronics and software, cylinder-pressure-based engine controls, hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems, lithium battery systems and HVAC climate control systems. From 1996 to 1999 he led the establishment and staffing of a new engine controller design center in Singapore.
Mr. Husted holds eight patents and has co-authored 22 peer-reviewed technical papers. He graduated summa cum laude from Kettering University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and has a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
