Ripton Melhado Named General Manager of Hyatt Regency San Antonio
San Antonio, TEXAS (PRWEB) July 31, 2015 -- Hyatt Regency San Antonio is proud to welcome Ripton Melhado as its new General Manager. He will officially begin his position on August 30, 2015. Melhado’s 25-year Hyatt career began in 1990 as a Rooms Division Intern at Hyatt Regency Atlanta. He held numerous positions within the Rooms Division at several Hyatt properties within the Atlanta market before being promoted to Director of Rooms in 1999. Over the next 14 years, Melhado served as Director and Senior Director of Rooms Division for Hyatt properties in: Louisville KY, Cleveland OH, Denver CO, Houston TX and Dallas TX. In 2013, Melhado was appointed General Manager of Hyatt Regency Wichita.
His career includes work with a number of Boards and Associations. Melhado served 8 years on and is a past Co-Chair of Hyatt’s North America Diversity and Inclusion Council. He was a member of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as a Board of Director for Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Visit Wichita, and the Greater Wichita Sports Commission. He is also a member of the Wichita Area Outlook Team at the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at Wichita State University.
Melhado holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Administration and Certificate in Business Administration from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife Trisha are proud parents of two teenage children.
