Colorado State University-Global Campus Establishes Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society Chapter
Greenwood Village, Colo, (PRWEB) July 30, 2015 -- Colorado State University-Global Campus (CSUGlobal.edu) is proud to announce it has been approved as a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society recognizing and promoting achievement in business, management, and administration. CSU-Global students with high academic achievement in eligible degree programs will receive an invitation for a lifetime membership to include on their resume and gain networking and career guidance opportunities.
“Sigma Beta Delta is very pleased to establish a chapter at CSU-Global to be able to recognize the top achieving students in their business programs,” says Sigma Beta Delta Executive Director Peter Banholzer. To receive a membership invitation to CSU-Global’s chapter, students must be enrolled in either the B.S. in Accounting or the B.S. in Business Management program with a GPA of at least 3.50 or be a graduate student earning their Master of Science in Management with a GPA of at least 3.70. The first membership invitations to CSU-Global students were sent out last month.
As a leading honor society for business, Sigma Beta Delta has over 420 chapters internationally. They induct about 5,000 new members a year and have over 85,000 members in total. Once accepted for membership, inducted students receive a certificate, lapel pin, window decal, one year subscription to Bloomberg Businessweek, discounts through national vendor partners as well as fellowship awards and internships opportunities.
“We continually work to ensure our programs not only meet the high standards of a public, regionally accredited university, but also provide the knowledge and skills that our students need to thrive in their chosen fields,” says Jon Bellum, Provost and Senior Vice President at Colorado State University-Global Campus. “Being selected as a new chapter member of Sigma Beta Delta is a testament to the importance we place on academic quality and provides another opportunity for us to recognize the accomplishments of some of our top-performing students in business and management.”
“Sigma Beta Delta will further CSU-Global’s commitment to helping their students stand out from the crowd and give students a competitive edge in today’s global workforce,” continues Banholzer, “Sigma Beta Delta also encourages and promotes aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
