The thought leaders at the conference discussed the issue of tightening capacity, increasing regulations, climbing customer demands and the driver shortage. Due to a shifting dynamic in the industry, capacity is tightening considerably. Ruiz shared three key strategies to attract and retain carriers.
“It’s vital to treat carriers as customers because their satisfaction is integral to your capacity,” says Alicia Ruiz, Carrier Relations Manager at JTS. “Relationships are the key. Ask the carrier what you can do for them. Show them your appreciation and that you care about their business and what they bring to the table.”
