Steele Rose Communications is an independently owned, full-service public relations, social media, digital, marketing and crisis communications agency opening its new headquarters August 3, 2015 in Chapel Hill, NC. Founded in 2001 by Karen Barnett in White Plains, NY, the agency quickly expanded from one client and a single office to representing global clients and the addition of a second office despite starting at the worst possible time -- right after the 9/11 tragedy and the ensuing economic slowdown.

SRC is recognized for developing two marketing paradigms: Rethink The Box® and Don’t Just Think Smart. Think Different.® SRC developed ‘Rethink The Box’ because it believed the marketing mantra and philosophy, ‘Think Outside The Box’ to be an outdated paradigm irrelevant in today’s digital marketplace. “Companies should not have to go outside the box to find vision, thought leadership and creative insight to solve their pain points or develop strategic marketing plans to achieve successful growth”, according to Karen Barnett, president of Steele Rose Communications. According to Ms. Barnett, “for companies to compete in today’s social arena it requires a cross-team approach that combines blending best practices with new discoveries and innovations. That is achieved through repurposing, redefining, revisiting and rethinking”, she added.

‘Don’t Just Think Smart. Think Different’ is a brand building model SRC formulated that teaches the importance of strategic planning before the development of creative tactical plans. It is that difference in thinking that can determine whether a company will be successful in its marketing and whether or not it will accomplish its goal.

Through the years the agency has amassed a collection of awards and built an impressive client roster that has included Reckitt Benckiser, a global consumer goods leader in health, hygiene and home care products -- introducing Veet to the US market, launching new products for Air Wick and handling the 24/7 crisis management for its 19 high growth “Powerbrand” categories. In addition, the agency developed the integrated marketing, public relations and social media campaigns for brands that included P&G’s Noxzema Razors and Old Spice Razors and Skin Care, Revolution Tea, Lucky Chic, Gilda’s Club, b-beauté and more.

SRC will open its doors with clients that include one of the nation's industry-leading certification and licensure testing companies, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of North Carolina children through arts education and the number one display manufacturer for show and vintage cars.

“We build brands, engage buyers, increase profits that impact the bottom line and deliver quantifiable results that support our work”, said Wayne Barnett, Managing Director & Chief Marketing Officer. The agency is offering companies a complementary ‘Rethink The Box’ marketing analysis either in person or via Skype.

SRC has affiliate offices in New York City and Washington, DC and services local, regional, national and international clients.
