Amarula Wins Gold Medal at at the IWSC 2015 Competition
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- Amarula, South Africa's most widely distributed liquor brand, has done it again, adding to its growing cache of global awards, with a new gold medal at this year's International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.
Made with wild-harvested marula fruit found only in sub-Saharan Africa, Amarula is basking in the glow of its latest flavor feat in London. This time, the seductively exotic charms of Amarula Cream proved irresistible to the panel of experts at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London, who it awarded it a gold medal at the 2015 competition in July.
Only those entries scoring a minimum of 90% are considered worthy of gold and are deemed by the industry panel of experts to be "setting the standard", according to the IWSC organizers.
Global general manager for the brand Dino D'Araujo said the new honors demonstrated an unwavering consistency of excellence, following on last year's gold for Amarula Cream at the same event, and then subsequently, golds at Concours Mondial in Brussels and at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
D'Araujo said the newest quality affirmation for the brand had come in the wake of increased sales in locally and abroad. "Amarula Cream is available in over 100 markets worldwide. Wherever it sells, it succeeds in conveying a compelling warmth and sociability, and there's great affinity for the brand globally. Its authentically African provenance, rooted in the wild-grown marula fruit indigenous to the sub-Saharan region, and its strong association with elephants who love the fruit and are protected by the Amarula Trust's conservation efforts, resonate strongly with consumers around the world."
