"AirNet’s expertise and reputation are tremendous complements to Kalitta’s relentless commitment to quality and innovation," said Doug Kalitta, president, Kalitta Charters.

AirNet and Michigan-based Kalitta Charters, LLC announced today that Kalitta has officially acquired operational assets of the Columbus-based company and will provide financial and operational backing to foster its long-term growth.

A renowned aviation leader in scheduled and on-demand cargo charter services, avionic installations and aircraft maintenance, AirNet operates as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 135 air carrier and 145 repair station.

AirNet has a fleet of Beechcraft Barons and Bombardier Learjets with team members based primarily in Columbus, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri. The company offers specialized services for transporting radiopharmaceuticals/nuclear medicine. It provides a full spectrum of aircraft maintenance on all major manufacturers and is a FAR Part 145 Certified Repair Station (#BSYR610C) with Class Ratings that allow it to offer avionics and airframe and services.

AirNet is one of a select few carriers granted special permits from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) and Transport Canada to provide the highest level of radiopharmaceutical cargo charter service. The company is the premier cargo charter service provider of choice industries that require immediate turn-time and specialized handling such as AOG (Aircraft on ground), Life Sciences, Dangerous Goods and Security Sensitive.

AirNet’s acquisition by Ypsilanti, Michigan-based Kalitta Charters, is a major step in the company’s overall transformation.

“We are thrilled about the unique opportunities this relationship will create for our industry,” Doug Kalitta, president, Kalitta Charters. “AirNet’s expertise and reputation are tremendous complements to Kalitta’s relentless commitment to quality and innovation.”
