Start-Up Magazine Announced as Media Partner for the Pistoia Alliance President’s Start Up Challenge 2015
Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) August 06, 2015 -- The Pistoia Alliance has secured Start-Up Magazine as media partner for the 2015 edition of its President’s Start Up Challenge, which will see start up companies from around the world compete for a US$15k cash prize and mentoring support from life science industry experts.
The Pistoia Alliance, a global, not-for-profit alliance of life science organizations that work together to lower barriers to innovation in R&D, launched the Challenge last month in order to encourage, and learn from, the start up community. Entrepreneurial small businesses are a growing and increasingly significant source of innovation and technological creativity in the life sciences sector, a view shared by Start-Up Magazine, making it a natural partner for the Challenge.
The partnership with Start-Up Magazine will include promotion of the Pistoia Alliance President’s Start Up Challenge 2015 through a range of activities, including editorial and advertising across both the Start-Up and Pistoia Alliance websites.
Richard Holland, Executive Director, Operations at the Pistoia Alliance said: “The start up community is becoming increasingly important as the life sciences industry looks for new solutions. However, the start up community faces a multitude of challenges, ranging from issues such as funding to getting their products in front of the right people. Through the Start Up Challenge we aim to do our bit to help the best of these companies fulfill their potential.
“Securing Start-Up Magazine as our media partner is excellent news. Start-Up has a very strong position in the life sciences sector and is seen as the go-to publication for early stage life sciences companies. Their support in promoting the Challenge will be invaluable.”
Nancy Dvorin, Editor of Start-Up said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Pistoia Alliance President’s Start Up Challenge 2015. Start-Up has long championed early stage companies and with the involvement of the Pistoia Alliance we hope to help more companies realize their full potential.”
2015 has been a particularly successful year for the Pistoia Alliance. There has been increased uptake of ongoing projects such as HELM (Hierarchical Editing Language for Macromolecules) and CSCS (Controlled Substances Compliance Services) across the life sciences community, and new projects launched including Ontologies Mapping and Map of Alliances.
