We had a professionally symbiotic relationship with Kimbia,” said Schreiber. “The team delivered unparalleled nonprofit crowdfunding expertise, and we both learned just how valuable this model can be for performing arts organizations.

Houston Grand Opera (HGO), a performing arts nonprofit organization founded in 1955 to profoundly impact the Houston community by creating operatic art that provides access to music's boundless power and beauty, will highlight its experience holding a crowdfunding event as part of #GivingTuesday last year. To register for the webinar, How to Maximize Your #GivingTuesday Results: A Houston Grand Opera Case Study, to be held tomorrow, Thursday, August 6th at 1pm CDT, visit the Kimbia webinar registration page.

In partnership with Kimbia, the leader in crowdfunding events and with participation from 92nd Street Y, one of the original founding organizations of #GivingTuesday, Houston Grand Opera’s development officer, Emily Schreiber, will discuss how the organization joined the worldwide movement to help generate more visibility, promote a sense of urgency and lower promotion costs for its inaugural crowdfunding program titled #AllinforHGO.

Attendees will learn how HGO leveraged Kimbia’s robust and innovative platform and developed a complete campaign strategy with the giving day expert’s proven practices. The performing arts organization surpassed its first-year goals, such as a total average online gift amount of $317, over two-and-a-half times the industry average for Performing Arts organizations, and recruited 56 percent new donors from their email campaign.

“We had a professionally symbiotic relationship with Kimbia,” said Schreiber. “The team delivered unparalleled nonprofit crowdfunding expertise, and we both learned just how valuable this model can be for performing arts organizations.”

Going forward, the HGO team is planning another 24-hour crowdfunding event powered by the Kimbia platform scheduled for October 14-15, 2015 to kick off their opera season. Stay tuned to @HouGrandOpera #AllinforHGO to get status updates in real time. For complete details on their #GivingTuesday campaign, download Kimbia’s Houston Grand Opera Case Study.
