Watson Adds 26 New Full Time Jobs

In order to help fill these new positions and other open positions, Watson started an employee referral program earlier this year.

Watson Inc. is proud to announce the addition of 26 new jobs. The jobs created are all full time positions with an extensive benefits package, which includes medical coverage, paid time off (including paid sick, vacation and personal time), ten paid holidays, 401K, and participation in Watson’s profit sharing plan. Of the 26 new positions, six are still in the process of being filled. Adding 26 jobs is significant, increasing total employee count by an unprecedented ten percent in the last six months. The new positions were created largely due to increased orders and company growth.

The majority of these jobs were created at the company’s facilities in West Haven and Orange, Connecticut. Jobs were also created in the Taylorville, Illinois, facility.

In order to help fill these new positions and other open positions, Watson started an employee referral program earlier this year. To date employees at Watson have referred over 135 family members and friends as part of this program. The strong response to the program indicates an engaged workforce that believes Watson is a great place to work.

In addition to the 26 full time jobs created Watson also provided opportunities this summer for local students. In all Watson offered 12 summer internships. The internships were developed around learning objectives for the students with milestones and goals. Several of the interns will be presenting results of their research at the end of the summer. Two of the summer interns participated through the West Haven Summer Youth Employment Program. Watson takes employee engagement and happiness seriously. Early this year an employee engagement survey was conducted. This allowed employees an opportunity to anonymously voice their opinions on the work environment, benefits, and policies. A summary of the results of the survey was circulated to all employees. As a result of the survey employee-led task teams were established to provide continual improvement in key areas affecting employee engagement.
