Brawler Industries Names New CEO And Announces Expansion
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) August 06, 2015 -- Brawler Industries, a leading provider of specialty-engineered liners for containment and fluid management applications, has named John Keating as its new Chief Executive Officer. Keating has over 30 years of experience in plastics manufacturing with global companies including GSE and Chevron, and is a co-founder of In-Line Plastics. He joined Brawler in 2014 following Brawler’s acquisition of the In-Line brand.
“Brawler has long been known for its innovation and high-quality products,” says Keating. “Leveraging In-Line’s manufacturing expertise allows the company to expand that presence, maintain strict quality control and emphasize competitive pricing. It’s a charge I look forward to leading.”
Rick Gasser, founding CEO of Brawler, will be transitioning to a role on Brawler’s Board of Directors and will maintain a significant equity stake in the business.
“Rick was instrumental to the vision and success of Brawler and we look forward to working with him as a board member and advisor going forward,” Keating says.
A portfolio company of Tailwind Capital, Brawler has been the premier U.S. provider of customized quick-turn flexible reserve pit and frac liners used for oil and gas drilling, including horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. The company manufactures and converts reinforced and unreinforced polyethylene sheeting in a wide variety of thickness and dimensions providing superior longevity, flexibility, durability and chemical resistance.
This year, the company will be investing over $10 million to expand its Houston manufacturing facility. The expansion, which began in early 2015, will be completed in stages and fully operational by late 2015.
“Brawler has decades of experience providing value-engineered liners on short lead times to the oil and gas industry,” says Kent Metzger, Vice President of Sales for Brawler Industries. “We want to build on our longstanding position in the energy sector by providing superior quality, service and choices to the customers in the agricultural, environmental and constructions markets.”
The new expansion will significantly enhance Brawler’s production capabilities and increase its capacity to formulate proprietary, internally developed scrim reinforced and linear low and high density liners that meet or exceed GRI-GM13 and GRI-GM17 standards. This includes adding state-of-the-art multi-layer blow film geo-membrane and high-speed laminating lines to complement its existing polyethylene extrusion capacity.
Brawler Industries has been designing, fabricating, and delivering superior containment membranes for a wide variety of industries since 1978. In addition to its Houston location, Brawler also has manufacturing facilities in Midland and Pleasanton, Texas, and in Miles City, Montana.
