New York, NY (PRWEB) August 10, 2015
Lion Brand® Yarn Company is proud to be a sponsor of New York’s annual Stitch N’ Pitch baseball game at Citi Field stadium, happening on Sunday, August 16th at 1:10pm EST. Stitch N’ Pitch is a series of nationwide events which occur during the major and minor league baseball season to encourage fans to participate in two of America’s “favorite past-times”, knitting and baseball. The Stitch N’ Pitch program, which was developed by business trade group The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA), has been in existence since 2006.
Lion Brand® Yarn Company, with offices in both New York and New Jersey, has been involved with Stitch N’ Pitch games over the past 8 years. Yarn enthusiasts who came out to the event last year, knitted and crocheted squares to be donated to Warm Up America, a charity that distributes warm afghans, caps and other much-needed items to thousands of people across the country. This year Lion Brand® and The TNNA have partnered again to donate squares and finished items to this charitable organization.
Tickets for the game are $25 each and can be purchased from the following Lion Brand® retail locations: Lion Brand Yarn Studio at 34 West 15th Street; and Lion Brand Yarn Outlet in Carlstadt, NJ, located at 140 Kero Road. Lion Brand® ticket-holders will be seated in a special section allotted for knitters and crocheters and a representative from Lion Brand® will be present to hand out goody bags to Stitch N’ Pitch ticket-holders.
Goody bags will include a ball of Lion Brand®’s worsted weight yarn, Vanna’s Choice®, a pattern to knit or crochet a square to donate to Warm Up America, and other craft related items.
