Greenberg Traurig Attorney Joseph A. Vallo Speaks at the 27th Annual Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair
CHICAGO (PRWEB) August 05, 2015 -- Joseph Vallo, shareholder in the New York office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, will lead a panel at the 2015 LGBT Bar Annual Conference & Career Fair, known nationwide as the 27th Annual Lavender Law Conference, to be held Aug. 5-8, in Chicago. Vallo will be speaking on the workshop titled “The Business Case for Inclusiveness” on Friday, Aug. 7th; Greenberg Traurig will also participate in the annual career fair on Aug. 7th.
The National LGBT Bar Association is the nation’s largest association of lawyers; judges and other legal professionals; law students; activists; and affiliated lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LBGT) legal organizations. The LGBT Bar promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity. Lavender Law, the premiere gathering of LGBT and allied legal professionals, brings together a diverse array of professionals from law firms, corporations, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies to provide continuing education and networking opportunities, as well as to share best practices for the advancement of equality and inclusion in the profession and in business.
Vallo is a longtime active member of the LGBT Bar Association and its foundation, the National LGBT Bar Foundation, having served most recently as board president. Presently, Vallo serves the foundation board as immediate past president. He is also a member of the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York.
Vallo, a shareholder and member of the Litigation and Securities Litigation Practice, focuses his practice on securities arbitration and mediation as well as securities litigation. He has wide-ranging experience in retail brokerage compliance in domestic and international markets. Before joining the firm, Vallo served as senior vice president and senior litigation counsel for Wachovia Securities, LLC, now known as Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, where he supervised the firm’s major litigations and arbitrations. Previously, he served as the senior vice president and director of compliance for TD Waterhouse Group, Inc. and the divisional compliance director at Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. where he was also the director of International Private Client Group Compliance. He is a mediator/arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
Vallo received a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York College at Cortland, where he serves on the board of the Cortland College Foundation, and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
