SeaBuck 7 Natural Dietary Supplement for Backyard Chickens Available August 13th, 2015
Midvale, UT (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- A high school student’s state-winning science fair project has resulted in a new dietary supplement for backyard chickens from SeaBuck 7 - a line of sea buckthorn berry-based animal health products. The student, from Ogden, UT, bought new baby chicks from the same hatch and divided them into 2 groups. The experimental group was fed SeaBuck 7 sea buckthorn berry puree on their feed every day through their start to laying and 2 months thereafter while the control group was not.
The results showed an 82% increase in eggs produced by the experimental group compared to the control group. The experimental group also started laying 24 days earlier and had shinier, healthier feathers, lower incidence of disease, and much better behavior, especially around humans. All chickens love the flavor of the sea buckthorn supplement on their feed and ran to the care-taker when he had the jug of the product in-hand.
Similar (in some-cases even better) results have been observed in ongoing trials that came about through recruiting backyard chicken owners from a private Facebook group called Backyard Chickens - currently with about 54,000 members. That is the finished product’s namesake. “SeaBuck 7 – Backyard Chicken”
Aside from the casual backyard hobby farmer, there may be commercial applications for this product. Says Peter McMullin, SeaBuck President, "This product could be transformative to smaller, natural, commercial egg operations by increasing egg output, lowering incidence of disease in chickens, and improving the nutrient profile of the eggs. For commercial operations, it's often a question of ROI. A feed supplement that costs less than $1 per month per chicken and increases egg output by 100% is a pretty safe bet."
The product will be available directly from SeaBuck’s website http://www.seabuck.com mid August and will slowly be marketed to feed stores, online chicken supply outlets, etc. It will also be made available to wholesalers, feed/farm distributors, and small, free-range, commercial egg producers.
The product is set at a retail price of $29.95 USD (wholesale pricing available for commercial operations) for a single 32 oz jug. One jug will support up to 20 chickens for 32 days (1 fl oz per day for 20 chickens). It is 99.9% natural.
SeaBuck, LLC is the world leader in sea buckthorn-based animal health products and is a sister company of Sibu, LLC, the world leader in sea buckthorn-based products for humans. Both are located in Salt Lake City, UT.
