Marstel-Day Hosts Consortium for Ocean Leadership’s Head of Research and Education Programs on Ocean Sustainability
Fredericksburg, VA (PRWEB) August 10, 2015 -- International environmental consulting firm Marstel-Day announced that the Vice-President of Research and Education, at the Consortium of Ocean Leadership, Kristen Yarincik, will speak at the firm’s Wildlife Conservation Awareness Campaign on August 19, 2015, at the firm’s Alexandria, VA office. The talk will be given at noon EST and can be viewed via livestream from the Marstel-Day website.
The Consortium for Ocean Leadership is a nonprofit organization that focuses on uniting the oceanographic community through advocacy, program management, and facilitation of research efforts among its member institutions. The Consortium represents 89 of the leading public and private ocean research education institutions, aquaria and industry.
Yarincik’s WCAC talk will focus on ocean sustainability and the need for diverse ocean leaders. She oversees several programs, including: the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative, the Interagency Ocean Observing Committee, and the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB), which includes an academic competition and a program to engage high school students in ocean science and related studies.
The public is invited to join a viewing of the livestream at its headquarters in Fredericksburg, VA or to watch it from the convenience of their own computers.
