Eighth Annual Boxerstock Music Festival Scheduled for October 11
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- The eighth annual Boxerstock Music Festival, presented by Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic and Unleashed by Petco to benefit Atlanta Boxer Rescue, takes place on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from noon to 6 p.m. at Jim Miller Park in Marietta, GA. Boxerstock 2015 will feature live music from both national and local acts representing a variety of musical genres and styles.
Boxerstock is a family and dog-friendly event, welcoming well-behaved dogs of all breeds. Sponsor C&C Fence Company will provide 2 fenced Mini-Dog Parks, one for large dogs and one for smaller canine attendees to roam off leash. Trainers from sponsor K-9 Coach/Bed & Bark will be available for dog training tips and demos throughout the day. Microchipping for dogs that have current vaccinations and proof of ownership will be available for $25 per dog. Atlanta food truck vendors Mix'd Up, Yoli's, C'est Tout Bon 2 Eat and Olde Blind Dog will serve delicious food options at the park throughout the day.
This year’s musical lineup covers multiple genres and includes local performers as well as nationally-known acts. The music starts at noon and continues throughout the day until 6 p.m. The lineup includes:
• Laughlin (@LaughlinMusic) – Nationally-known, award-nominated country duo from Athens, GA
• Justin Dukes (@Justindukes) - Singer/ songwriter from Vidalia, GA
• Morgan's Road (@MorgansRoadBand) - Funk-infused jam band from South Carolina
• Matt Rogers (@mrogerscountry) – Award-winning country artist from Macon, Georgia
• Falling Through April (@bandFTA) - Five piece rock act from North Carolina
• theSAGAS (@theSAGASmusic) – Rock and soul duo from Atlanta, GA
• Cumberland Blue (@Cumberlandblue) –Blues/rock sextet from Nashville, TN
Comedienne Shelly Olson (@ComedyloveLLC) returns to Boxerstock for her seventh year as emcee.
This year’s Boxerstock features a Kids’ Village with fun activities for children, including human hamster balls from Water Walkers, bouncy houses and a second stage for kid-friendly entertainment and music from some of Georgia's finest up and coming young artists.
Other events include a silent auction, a dog costume contest, agility and other performance demos, kids’ art contest and others. Dogs can have their pictures taken with Santa. A variety of merchandise from over sixty vendors will be available for purchase. Atlanta Boxer Rescue volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about adopting, fostering or volunteering. All healthy foster dogs will be on hand to meet approved adopters. Those interested in adopting a boxer should submit their application as early as possible.
“Atlanta Boxer Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and adoption of the boxer dog breed. We provide fostering and adoption services for boxers from area kill shelters, and also education and resources to aid all dog owners. In 2015, we rescued our 1000th dog,” said Dianne DaLee, president of Atlanta Boxer Rescue. “This year’s musical lineup is incredible, and the funds we raise at Boxerstock, our largest annual fundraiser, will allow us to continue our rescue efforts and care for these wonderful dogs. Proceeds go directly to our vetting costs.”
