Concept Capital Markets earned solid scores in the 2015 edition of Global Custodian Magazine's Prime Brokerage Survey, outperforming the average of the survey results in eight of the ten functional service areas included.

Concept Capital Markets, LLC earned solid scores in the 2015 Prime Brokerage Survey conducted by Global Custodian Magazine, outperforming the average of the survey results in eight of the ten functional service areas included. The firm significantly outperformed in Operations, Client Service, and Reputation, and earned well above average scores as well in Technology, Financing and Margining, and Value. Moreover, the firm earned improved scores year-to-year in seven categories, with the most significant improvement coming in Capital Introductions (an area where the firm has committed additional resources in the past year) and Reputation.

This year’s survey, released in the latest edition of the magazine, included hedge fund manager responses rating more than 40 different providers of prime brokerage services, with the top 20 profiled in the report. The survey scores were normalized so as to minimize the impact of anomalous responses and take into account the different scoring patterns of different client groups as well as, the value of assets under management, the complexity of the investment strategies employed, and the number of prime brokers utilized by each respondent. The scores received in each functional category were also further weighted by the importance attached to them by the respondents.

“We are grateful to Global Custodian for producing this in-depth survey and appreciate all of the hedge fund managers for their participation in it. The survey results provide valuable feedback from our clients that will help us as we continue to improve our capabilities to meet their needs”, said Jack Seibald, co-founder and Managing Member. He added, “We are very pleased with the recognition our firm received from our clients, as it validates the effort our team puts forth each and every day. We aim to earn our clients’ business by serving as a trusted and loyal partner and delivering the prime brokerage solutions they’ve come to expect of us.”

Fund managers face difficulties every day as they search out the best possible investment and trading opportunities for their clients’ assets. The mission at Concept Capital is to deliver the custody, execution and clearing, operational support, and portfolio management and reporting solutions managers require, which permit them to then focus on their core competencies. The Concept Capital team is uniquely equipped to service its clients’ needs and preferences because of its diverse set of experiences and skill sets that include launching and managing hedge funds, trading on a variety of execution and order management systems, clearing and settling trades at multiple clearing firms, providing operational and technology support to wide ranging investment strategies, utilizing portfolio reporting technologies, implementing compliance procedures, and raising capital.

“Concept Capital continues to invest in technology and talented individuals in an effort to deliver the tools and support services that enhance our clients’ ability to manage their businesses”, said Michael Rosen, co-founder and Managing Member. “These investments have resulted in the continued growth of our client base and a substantial jump in the assets we service on their behalf over the past year. With the recently announced acquisition of our firm by Cowen Group, Inc. we believe we will be even better positioned to enhance the breadth of services to our clients. Cowen and Concept Capital share the same values, including a deep commitment to partnering with our clients. This affiliation will provide the combined entity with a unique opportunity to leverage each firm’s resources for the benefit of our clients”, he concluded.
