The Baker Group Turns 15 and Gen X Owner Turns 50
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- Although the idea of a bucket list was popularized nearly 10 years ago in a film starring Baby Boomers Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, a Los Angeles based Gen Xer has a vision to update the concept by using the photo-sharing social media site Instagram. Tammy Dickerson is among the first Generation Xers who will turn 50 years old in 2015. In preparation of celebrating her milestone birthday November 1, 2015, Dickerson, a highly sought-after event producer, decided to launch a blog http://fiftyin15.blogspot.com and create a social media campaign using #50in15 for women who are embracing life at 50+.
As a new social media adopter, Dickerson wanted a way to share some of her personal experiences during her journey to turning 50 and provide an online platform for women just like her, or who are currently in their fifties, to share pictures of bucket list items that they have acted on. The idea behind her vision is to create an action board on Instagram; which is just like a vision board but includes images of things completed.
”#50in15 is a social media campaign to inspire, encourage and empower women to live life to the absolute fullest. I want us to celebrate turning 50 and ‘another new beginning’ of our lives. Turning 50 is an opportunity to try new things and rediscover who we are and who we can become. This campaign is dedicated to challenging women to fulfill lifelong dreams and celebrate their accomplishments”, says Dickerson. As a physically fit fashionable mother of a 7-year-old daughter, wife and full-time entrepreneur, Dickerson is a shining example that 50 can be fabulous and the new 40. Dickerson owns her own event production firm, The Baker Group (TBG), that she established in 2000, and produces high profile events around the world for clients including Toyota, Major League Baseball, The Milken Institute, and Disney.
In addition to celebrating her 50th birthday later this year, Dickerson is celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Baker Group in 2015. Under her leadership, The Baker Group has produced more than 200 events during the past fifteen years. Some of her most memorable events include the Milken Institute Global Conference; which TBG has produced for the past 11 years at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Also, most recently TBG produced Operation HOPE’s Global Financial Forum featuring President Bill Clinton in January 2015, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dickerson shares her journey on the road to fifty, along with resources, encouragement, lifestyle tips and stories from other women on http://50in15.tumblr.com. Women between the ages of 45 – 60 are encouraged to share social media updates about their goals and accomplishments, testimonials, photos, and videos using #50in15 on Twitter and Instagram. Follow the #50in15 movement @fiftyin15 @TBakerGrp and tag #50in15 to share your bucket list experiences. For more information visit http://50in15.tumblr.com.
