The contest is called "Behind the Curtain" because the Shoreditch Art Wall will soon disappear because it's located in the upcoming Shakespeare "Curtain Theater" development area
Santa Cruz, California (PRWEB) August 11, 2015
Today, the Santa Cruz-based Art Wall Company, LLC, announced the launch of an international 'street-art' competition, in Shoreditch, London, “Behind the Curtain,” to draw the worlds finest muralists, street artists and graffiti writers to compete in a 16 artist paint-off over a 4 week period. One winner of a cash prize plus other benefits will be selected by a pre-selected panel of artists to be announced.
The Shoreditch Art Wall, which is no stranger to international artists, advertisers and charities will be the featured venue for the competition. The event is to be held on London's bustling central vein, Great Eastern Street, in the heart of the East London art scene.
Each week 4 artists will be allocated a panel upon the Shoreditch Art Wall (17-19 Great Eastern Street, London EC2) and be provided with materials to create their masterpieces. 1 of the 16 applicants will be chosen as winner of the competition and will receive a £1,000 cash prize, a week on all 4 panels of the Shoreditch Art Wall and a video of them working will be submitted to CNN and the BBC and the usual social networks.
The competition is currently open to application with a submission closing date of August 31, 2015
