Planet Depos, LLC, a global court reporting company providing best-in-class court reporting, arbitration, interpretation and trial support services, proudly announces the addition of renowned international arbitration realtime reporter Jade King as its Director of International Arbitrations. The hiring of King significantly strengthens Planet Depos’ Asia presence through Jade's arbitration, trial and captioning expertise. King is a long-term resident reporter in Asia with conversational Cantonese fluency and significant knowledge of Chinese culture and Asian judicial practice.
From Hong Kong to Bangkok, Mongolia to Shanghai, Osaka to Seoul, Taipei to Singapore, Manila to New Delhi, King has broad experience across the Asia-Pacific region. Heavily involved in mentoring new reporters and with demonstrated top-level performance in all areas of reporting, King is committed to pristine realtime as the stenographic benchmark, a non-negotiable imperative in the demanding international market. King has years of experience providing realtime transcription services to judicial bodies, corporations and law firms around the world.
“I am thrilled to work with Kathy DiLorenzo, Planet Depos’ Director of Court Reporting, in developing a new generation of international realtime reporters, and I look forward to representing Planet Depos with Asian, British and Australian clients,” commented King. “Arbitration is a flexible, continuously evolving area of practice, and it is exciting to work with Planet Depos – a business with the same attributes – to continue to entrench realtime reporting as an integral part of the arbitral process.”
A self-taught stenographer accredited by the Supreme Court of Victoria, Jade King undertook a five-year apprenticeship in all levels of the Australian legal system, from Federal Court to Royal Commissions. She then spent five years in stenocaptioning roles at Red Bee Media/Ericsson and the BBC. Moving to Asia six years ago in pursuit of an international career, Jade has covered high-end arbitrations and court hearings, as well as depositions and corporate, media and political event captioning, working on some of the highest profile cases of the past decade.
“We look forward to exploring new business opportunities in Asia with Jade,” says Greg Laubach, Planet Depos’ General Counsel. “Not only are her credentials as a reporter unparalleled, but her business acumen is exceptional. Jade is a welcome addition to our Asia business development team.”
"The addition of Jade to our family will bring significant arbitration and captioning expertise to our rapidly growing business throughout Asia. We are honored to have Jade leading our international arbitration and captioning expansion," says Planet Depos CEO, Lisa DiMonte.
