Teqqa LLC Wins Hero Award from Investors at Silicon Couloir Pitch Day
Jackson Hole, WY (PRWEB) August 12, 2015 -- Teqqa LLC, a software firm specializing in applications that optimize antibiotic use, presented to a panel of experienced investors at the Silicon Couloir Pitch Day and won the contest’s top prize, the Hero Award.
Teqqa’s founder and chief executive officer, Dan Peterson, MD, MPH, outlined the company’s mission, current and future products, and growth plans. “I am honored to win the Hero Award at Silicon Couloir Pitch Day, especially among such a highly talented group of fellow participants,” said Dr. Peterson. “My team and I are excited about taking Teqqa forward and appreciate the support and guidance from Silicon Couloir.”
Dr. Peterson is the epidemiologist and physician who started Teqqa in 2013. The creation of this company follows his past entrepreneurial success in the infectious disease and clinical decision support software space.
A small group of entrepreneurs were selected and coached for the annual Silicon Couloir Pitch Day event in Jackson Hole, WY. The finalists then pitched their businesses to a panel of experienced investors and a general audience of over 200 people. Dr. Peterson of Teqqa won the pitch contest, receiving the Hero Award and associated prizes.
“Because of the severe problem of antibiotic resistance, we created a unique company to develop software tools that physicians and stewardship teams desperately need,” said Dr. Peterson. “A future without antibiotics is not a future we want to see. As we build relationships with leading hospitals to help them strengthen their antibiotic stewardship programs, we are excited about the amazing results and improvements we have seen to date.”
Teqqa’s future plans are to continue building innovative technology solutions and aggressively bring those products to the hospital market through direct sales and strategic partnerships.
