I want women to be as equal and confident when selling themselves, their careers, their experiences, and their lives, as their male counterparts.

Women Who Test will be held on Friday, October 2 at the STARWEST conference in Anaheim, California. It is a full-day event for women in software testing to network with other women who work in the industry. It is also a day to learn from and be inspired by each other.
"Women Who Test started because of my desire to encourage women to talk about both their experiences in testing and their careers. I have been on a mission to help increase the ratio of women practitioners speaking at our software testing conferences and it has not been without its challenges. I want women to be as equal and confident when selling themselves, their careers, their experiences, and their lives, as their male counterparts. Creating a day for ‘Women Who Test’ is a way to support and further that movement. It allows women to hear from other women in software testing. It provides the space and time for them to talk with their female peers, to problem solve together, and to be inspired by each other," said Alison Wade, Women Who Test Founder and Program Chair.
This program will cover testing topics and will support women’s personal and career journeys and feature topics including: reengineering your life, growing your personal brand, setting goals, discovering your career superpowers, as well as problem-solving as a female in the tech industry where the ratio of men to women is 7:3.
In addition to the Women Who Test event, the STARWEST conference will offer access to more than ninety learning sessions over six days. Over one thousand attendees are expected to take part in the training and certification courses, half and full-day tutorials, testing-oriented concurrent sessions, and a variety of networking events. The conference will also feature an Expo where more than forty industry-leading companies will exhibit their software testing tools and services.
