Boston, MA (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- Red Sox pitcher Junichi Tazawa and JX Nippon Oil & Energy, USA (JX) brand ENEOS have joined together for a promotion to benefit the Red Sox Foundation, the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox. The promotion will focus on the number of games in which Tazawa enters during the current season.
For the “Tazawa Plays for Charity” promotion, ENEOS will donate an amount in Tazawa’s honor to the Red Sox Foundation for each game entrance. In addition to the game entrance donation, ENEOS will also join forces with the Red Sox Foundation to give back to the residents of Boston on behalf of Tazawa by coordinating a community service project at McKinley Middle School in Boston on Monday, August 17th, between 10am - 2pm. The McKinley Middle School provides special education for children in the Boston Public School system.
For the service project, ENEOS and Red Sox Foundation volunteers (including Red Sox Scholars, RBI players, Red Sox Foundation staff and Red Sox Nation volunteers) will be working with inner-city children to paint a mural inside the school. After the mural painting, participants are invited to attend the night game of the Boston Red Sox.
“We are happy to once again support our long-time partner Junichi Tazawa, this time with the ideal of helping the community as well as celebrating his participation in baseball,” said Motoshi Sunami, President and CEO of JX Nippon Oil & Energy USA Inc. “The Red Sox Foundation is a fantastic charity doing good work on behalf of fans around the world.”
“The Red Sox Foundation would like to thank ENEOS for their generous donation in helping the children and families of New England,” adds Gena Borson, Executive Director of the Boston Red Sox Foundation. “We're proud to collaborate with ENEOS and Mr. Tazawa in this generous charitable endeavor.”
“I am very honored to play a part in helping the Red Sox Foundation and ENEOS in this promotion,” reports Junichi Tazawa. “It’s always great to help out in any way we can and I feel grateful that our work will especially help out the youth of our local communities.”
As of the day of this release, Tazawa has entered 49 games. In 2014, he entered 71 total games.
