Today noted Lean consulting firm Modus Cooperandi - creators of the Personal Kanban™ productivity method, the Lean Coffee™ meeting format, and the global conference Kaizen Camp™ - launch their new online school, Modus Institute, providing courses that help solve business’ toughest challenges.
The first course open for enrollment is “Successful Distributed Teams,” which focuses on techniques and tools for better managing individuals and groups who work together from different locations, a very common scenario in today’s business world. The course is aimed at business leaders, project managers, and team members alike.
Although managing distributed teams and remote workers can be challenging, companies and managers who are able to master this skill have a decisive advantage.
The class details how distributed teams exacerbate common problems like alignment, work delegation, knowing what work is in progress, change adaption, and setting goals. The class details how to manage projects with distributed teams and provides specific and simple tools for far flung work groups to create and maintain shared definitions for more effective communication.
Future Modus Institute classes will focus on Lean Project Management topics including kanban / Personal Kanban, metrics, planning and predictability, forecasting, alignment, cultural issues, on-time delivery, and understanding work.
