Giving back to those less fortunate has always been a core value of our company, and this is really highlighted by HOPE Week.

Introduced in 2009, and heading into its seventh year in 2015, the NY Yankees' HOPE Week initiative (Helping Others Persevere & Excel) is rooted in the fundamental belief that acts of goodwill provide hope and encouragement to more than just the recipient of the gesture. Adapting the concept, HOPE Week is a time where everyone at Dittman focuses on their relationship to the community as a company and as individuals.

The Dittman HOPE Week projects this year are focused addressing fundamental needs, with which many people struggle, both worldwide and in our own neighborhoods. The company identified four most basic needs: clean water, hunger, clothing, and shelter, and Dittman employees participated in several programs last week to support seven non-profits in these areas. This reflects an important part of the “Dittman CARES” culture, which helped the company to be named a “Best Places to Work in NJ” earlier this year.

Executive Vice President Dave Dittman says, “Giving back to those less fortunate has always been a core value of our company, and this is really highlighted by HOPE Week. The selfless and enthusiastic support that everyone has shown for our HOPE Week initiatives has been truly inspiring.”

Every charity selected has a personal connection to the company. charity: water helps raise money to bring clean drinking water to those who need it. By collecting change throughout the month, their employees will help people that don’t have clean water.

The Center for Food Action ensures that children in New Jersey receiving free or reduced rate school lunches do not go hungry on the weekend. Dittman bought supplies, assembled approximately 500 snack packs, and delivered them for those children in need. Dittman has an on-going relationship with Elijah’s Promise. The company ran a food and supplies drive benefiting Elijah’s Promise in the building lobby with MATRIX’s participation. MATRIX also sponsored an Ice Cream Social to drive as much attention to the effort as possible.

As an organization focused on employees and the workplace, Dittman has asked their employees to donate business clothes to two different organizations throughout the entire month of August. Professional womenswear will be donated to Dress for Success’ Trenton Chapter, and professional menswear will be donated to Career Gear. Any non-professional and/or casual clothes received will be donated to Clothesline by Elijah’s Promise.

Jersey Cares provides toiletry kits to make that first night at a shelter more comfortable. Last week, Dittman assembled approximately 250 First Night Kits for delivery to regional shelters.
