Gossett Leadership Award. The award is the highest honor bestowed by AHRMM and is given to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary level of leadership and professionalism in the field, made significant contributions to AHRMM and advanced the healthcare supply chain.
The Leadership Award is presented in memory of George R. Gossett, an early president of AHRMM. In AHRMM’s official announcement of the award, Johnson was lauded by Christopher J. O'Connor, immediate past chair of AHRMM, as an “outspoken proponent of healthcare supply chain management [who] challenges current thinking, strategies and paradigms to facilitate supply chain improvement and value creation.”
Johnson has a passion for supply chain management and has over 25 years of senior management and consulting experience applying best practices. In addition to the AHRMM award, Johnson is also a member of the Bellweather League, a Hall of Fame for Healthcare Supply Chain Leadership.
He has developed the supply chain strategies for three major companies that produced significant results. During his tenure with Intermountain Healthcare as the lead of the company’s supply chain strategy, he created an industry “top 25 Gartner” Supply Chain Organization which has achieved over $200 million in savings, exceeding the $20 million annual goal given to him when he was hired.
