Olshan Outreach Embraces Heart Health in 2015
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 17, 2015 -- Olshan Properties, one of the country’s leading private owners, developers and managers of commercial real estate, today announced the scheduled events for Olshan Outreach for the rest of 2015. These activities will further the mission of raising awareness and funds for heart health. Olshan Properties has a long history of giving back to the communities which it serves and formalized its public service initiatives as Olshan Outreach in 2014. In its highly successful launch year, Olshan Outreach team members helped distribute approximately 12,000 pounds of healthy food in communities across the country in the ‘Fight Against Hunger’.
In selecting a common cause to support in 2015, Olshan Outreach team members were particularly moved by the messages of the American Heart Association. According to the AHA's 2015 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics – At-a-Glance, cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of Americans and although simple preventative measures including diet and exercise can drastically reduce its incidence, less than one percent of adults in the United States eat the ‘ideal healthy diet’, and 31 percent of Americans admit they engage in no leisure time exercise.
Leveraging their strength in numbers and community spirit to help turn these staggering statistics around, Olshan Outreach team members will be participating in and promoting various heart health initiatives beginning on July 30 in cities including: Atlanta, Ga. (Sheraton Suites Galleria/Akers Mill Square]), Columbus, Ohio (Courtyard by Marriott at Easton, Hilton Columbus at Easton and Residence Inn by Marriott at Easton), Dayton, Ohio (The Greene Town Center), Kansas City, Mo. (Zona Rosa Town Center), Marco Island, Fla. (Marco Island Hilton Beach Resort and Spa), Milwaukee, Wis. (Bayshore Town Center) and in our corporate offices in New York City, Columbus, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cincinnati, Ohio.
Olshan Outreach team members kicked off this year’s Heart Health initiative by donning red apparel en masse on February 6th to draw attention to the American Heart Association’s ‘National Wear Red Day®’. The day was focused on bringing awareness and education to promote healthy lifestyles among women in particular as heart attacks and strokes result in the deaths of 1 in 3 women every year according to the American Heart Association.
Commented Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Olshan: “It would be difficult to find someone who hasn’t been impacted by the scourge of cardiovascular illness. Understanding that education is the root to promoting healthy lifestyles and to reversing the course of this deadly disease, our Olshan Outreach team members collectively embraced Heart Health as the focus of our service this year. Our team members surpass our expectations every day, but we are filled with special pride to see the care and commitment they show within the many communities Olshan Properties considers home.”
Olshan Outreach will lend its support to Heart Health with some of the following initiatives:
