Nominations Open for the SC Awards 2016, Recognizing Information Security’s Finest
New York (PRWEB) August 15, 2015 -- SC Magazine today announced that nominations for the SC Awards 2016 are now open. Nearing its 20th year, the SC Awards is the most prominent recognition in the IT security industry for the professionals, companies and products that protect today’s most important data and information systems. Winners will be announced at the SC Awards Gala on March 1, 2016, in San Francisco.
“This year has proven to be a very interesting one for the security industry,” said Illena Armstrong, VP, editorial, SC Magazine. “We’ve seen record numbers of advanced attacks and data breaches that have sought to compromise the sensitive data of both the private and public sector. While the forecast calls for more of the same, we recognize that for every headlining hack there are those that are thwarted by the dedicated professionals in the information security industry. The SC Awards are an opportunity for the individuals and companies that work around the clock to keep our businesses and data safe from cybersecurity threats to get the recognition they deserve for their efforts.”
SC Awards entrants have the opportunity to submit in 30 different categories, including a new category for Best Behavior Analytics/Enterprise Threat Detection. The award categories span three major themes: Excellence Awards, Professional Awards, and the newly revamped Trust Awards (formerly Reader Trust Awards). This year, the Trust Awards include a new judging process where finalists and winners are chosen by a distinguished group of leading IT security professionals from the SC Magazine readership and selected by the SC editorial team.
To be considered as a judge for the SC Awards 2016, please click here and complete the application form by August 24, 2015. The SC editorial team will review the applications and appoint judges to participate on the Trust Awards panel. A second expert panel of judges will be handpicked by SC Magazine’s VP of editorial to determine the Excellence and Professional award category winners. A full list of awards categories and information regarding the judging process may be found in the SC Awards 2016 entry kit.
Nominations may be completed over time by saving them on the SC Awards website. Completed entries must be submitted prior to the close of the nomination period, Friday, September 18, 2015. Finalists will be recognized in the January 2016 issue of SC Magazine and on the website scmagazine.com. Winners will be announced at the SC Awards Gala in San Francisco on March 1, 2016.
“As the threat landscape continues to evolve and attacks become increasingly sophisticated, so do the security solutions, advanced techniques and expert skills demonstrated by the individuals and companies protecting our data and enterprise systems,” said Armstrong. “Last year’s submissions boasted some of the finest entries we’ve ever seen, and we expect that trend to continue this year as the demand for innovative security leadership grows.”
