Access Showcases Electronic Forms and Patient Signatures at South Africa MEDITECH Users’ Conference UserMix
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- Hospitals worldwide are moving toward obtaining fully electronic health records (EHRs), and HIS and ECM systems get them part of the way. Yet many are still printing and scanning paper forms. That’s why hundreds of hospitals have turned to Access to provide web-based electronic forms and patient signature solutions. Access recently showcased how these solutions integrate with MEDITECH’s industry leading EHR at the UserMix event in Johannesburg, South Africa, in concert with MEDITECH South Africa.
“It was a pleasure to introduce Access’s e-forms solutions to the South Africa healthcare market during our UserMix conference,” said Charlotte Jackson, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at MEDITECH South Africa. “The value that Access brings to the table complements MEDITECH and ensures an enhanced patient experience."
During the event, Access’s strategic account executive shared the success story of Hilo Medical Center, which replaced paper-based patient consents with digital versions and electronic patient signatures. Once a patient completes and electronically signs their registration forms, these are sent directly into the correct record in MEDITECH’s EHR. This project is providing big benefits: saving more than $200,000 (~ R2,500,000) a year and improving patient engagement and satisfaction.
Access’s presence at the event reflects its growing international presence, which has seen an increasing number of customers across the UK, Europe and the Southern Hemisphere discover the cost savings, improved patient care and reduced environmental impact of tightly integrated, paperless Access and MEDITECH solutions.
Following the show, Access met with representatives of several leading hospitals across South Africa. Their product demonstrations enabled these facilities to see the benefits of deploying web-based forms and electronic patient signatures alongside MEDITECH technology.
“When combined with MEDITECH’s EHR, our web-based forms solutions provide a completely paperless solution for all hospitals—whether they’re in Johannesburg, Sydney, New York or anywhere in-between,” said Access founder and CEO Tim Elliott. “We’re excited to share the cost- and time-saving advantages with organizations in South Africa and elsewhere in the Southern Hemisphere.”
