Rocker Josie Ho Triumphant At The Metro Radio Guoyuli Awards 2015
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 15, 2015 -- It has been announced that Hong Kong-based multi-hyphenate talent, Josie Ho (“Contagion,” “Open Grave”) attended the Guoyuli Awards 2015 held by Metro Radio on August 7, 2015, where her band, "Josie and the Uni Boys," performed and took home multiple honors including "Best Asia Rock Band," "Album of the Year" (“The Electrifying Supernatural Lady Land”) and "Guoyuli Song" for their music single, “Johnny Depp.” Josie could only express her sincere gratitude with tears of joy during the ceremony.
The album, “The Electrifying Supernatural Lady Land” (also honored as "Best Album of the Year" at the QQ Music Awards earlier this year in China) received rave reviews from fans in Mainland China and Hong Kong. The song, “Johnny Depp,” became the standout single for the album, so it was the natural choice for the band to perform during the event. Josie dressed up in pirate-style as a nod to Depp’s role in “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Josie was inspired to compose the song because of the many fake telephone calls she always receives from people claiming to be her friends and relatives. So, one day, she came up with an idea to write a song for Johnny Depp in hopes that it would provide a chance to meet him. “I hope Johnny Depp is able to hear it! He has to be very careful because I want us to be friends,” Josie said jokingly.
It has been a fruitful year for Miss Josie Ho on other fronts as well. The feature film “Full Strike” from her production company 852 Films, in which she also stars, won the "Best Asian Film" Award at Switzerland’s 15th Annual Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival. Her achievements have been recognized by the Government of Montenegro and she was knighted Lady Josephine by Prince Stephan of Montenegro on June 23, 2015.
