ZOOM+Specialists New Advanced Care Studio Provides On-Demand Access to World Class Specialist Care With OHSU

ZOOM+, the innovator of on-demand healthcare and Performance Health Insurance, announced the opening today of its ZOOM+Specialists Advanced Care Studio located at 606 NE Broadway in Portland, Oregon.

ZOOM+Specialists replaces traditional, complex specialist care with a collaborative, on-demand experience. ZOOM+Specialists board-certified doctors work closely with their colleagues at OHSU (Oregon Health Sciences University) to provide radical access to world class care including Cardiology, Dermatology, Ear-Nose-Throat, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and others to be named.

Evaluations and procedures are scheduled online by mobile phone and do not need a referral. Visits are collaborative in nature and take place both online via ZOOM+Specialist Video Visits and in person at ZOOM+Specialist Advanced Care Studio -- a coworking inspired environment where provider teams are incentivized to provide the right care and to avoid unnecessary procedures. The team uses a unique project-based platform to create a project plan and continue treatment until the patient says the condition is resolved. Patients can monitor their projects on their phones through ZOOM+Mobile.

ZOOM+ Performance Health Insurance members enjoy access to specialists for $0-$30 copay for office and video visits. Non-members will have access to advanced care services through other insurance plans or self-pay the flat price of $200 per visit.

“Zoom+Specialists fundamentally changes the dynamics of specialty care in three ways,” said co-founder and CEO Dave Sanders, MD. “First, you schedule specialty care on-demand on your phone. Then, you engage in a highly collaborative experience online and at your neighborhood Advanced Care Studio. Lastly, we work with you on our mobile project-based platform until you say it’s done.”

The collaboration agreement between ZOOM+ and OHSU is a critical building block in Zoom’s innovative complete healthcare system.

“OHSU and ZOOM+ are both very focused on creating an innovative path to improving healthcare for Oregonians,” said Tom Yackel, M.D., MPH, M.S., vice president and chief clinical integration officer for OHSU Healthcare and associate dean for the clinical practice in the OHSU School of Medicine. “With this collaboration, the state’s leading research, teaching and advanced care center, OHSU, and the leading retail neighborhood healthcare provider, ZOOM+, join forces to deliver the best of both worlds.”

In May, 2015 Zoomcare became ZOOM+ and shifted from an on-demand care provider to a complete healthcare system with health insurance built in.
