Rotorcraft Certification Summit Full Agenda Released
Rockville, Maryland (PRWEB) August 19, 2015 -- Rotor & Wing International has officially released the full agenda for the Rotorcraft Certification Summit being held on October 27. This inaugural event will focus on successful efforts to streamline aviation certification processes and how those lessons might be applied to meet the needs of the helicopter industry.
The Summit’s timing and urgency are driven by efforts to revise U.S., European and Canadian rotorcraft certification standards that are getting underway now and by ongoing efforts to improve processes in the U.S. for issuing supplemental type certificates and other approvals for use of rotorcraft safety and performance enhancements. The full-day Summit also will address pending mandates for installation of equipment such as Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast devices, radar altimeters, helicopter terrain awareness and warning systems (HTAWS) and helicopter flight data monitoring (HFDM) equipment. Many helicopter operators face these fast-approaching deadlines with more questions than answers in regards to their compliance options.
The Rotorcraft Certification Summit will be held at the Sheraton DFW Airport hotel just north of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The Summit will provide a forum for the top minds within this wide range of commercial helicopter organizations to meet and personally interact with the individuals within the regulatory agencies who will ultimately oversee and interpret revisions of certification standards and processes.
“The Summit will bring together leaders of the latest initiatives to reform certification processes with those who are confronted each day with the need to improve those processes—helicopter operators and the equipment suppliers and maintenance shops that support them,” James T. McKenna, Rotor & Wing International’s editor-in-chief, said.
