Dr. James McAraw Now Certified in Minimally Invasive Receding Gums Correction Procedure
Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB) August 17, 2015 -- Patients with receding gums can now visit any of River Valley Perio’s three locations and receive the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique in Connecticut. Dr. James McAraw and Dr. Craig Foisie are now both qualified to perform the procedure. Individuals who are tired of dealing with the uncomfortable symptoms of gum recession are encouraged to call River Valley Perio and schedule an appointment with either doctor.
Receding gums are one of the most common dental problems afflicting many Americans. In some cases, gum recession only causes very minor symptoms, including slight teeth sensitivity and a visually-noticeable alteration of the smile’s appearance. However, if the condition is left untreated, symptoms can worsen over time and cause significant pain. Severe gum recession can eventually lead to highly sensitive gums, embarrassment, and even tooth loss. Receiving the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique in Connecticut, from Drs. McAraw and Foisie, can help restore the beauty, functionality, and comfort of each patient’s smile with minimal pain and discomfort during the procedure.
During the Pinhole® procedure, patients receive a local anesthetic and a small hole is created in their gum tissue, near the receded site. Drs. McAraw and Foisie then utilize special tools through the hole to manipulate the gum tissue away from the teeth, in order to loosen it so that it may be redirected accordingly over the tooth’s surface. Once the tooth is sufficiently covered with gum tissue, the procedure is completed and the patient can immediately see positive results. There are no stitches required, and the healing process is expedited in most cases. Patients who receive this procedure do not need to be concerned about experiencing excessive amounts of bleeding while the technique is being performed or during the recovery period.
Drs. McAraw and Foisie encourage patients with various degrees of receding gums, to schedule an appointment with their office and find out if they are ideal candidates for receiving the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique in Connecticut. Patients are invited to call one of River Valley Perio’s three locations in Old Saybrook, Waterford and Madison, CT to schedule an appointment.
