With collaboration of the design team at Design Platform led by Jonas DiCaprio, interior designer Megan Hudacky of cky designs, and landscaping designed by Jessica Lummus of Environmental Designs, Sunset has fully transformed an iconic 1954 mid-century brick ranch-style home into a stunning two story 5,100-square-foot re-imagined modern home.
In addition to hosting a series of open houses for six consecutive weekends beginning August 7, the Idea House is opening its doors as the destination for a variety of upcoming events, including:
- 2015 Denver Modern Home Tour - Saturday, August 22
- Denver Food and Wine Festival Tour and Dinner - Wednesday, September 9

Denver Modern Home Tour
Sunset and Modern Home Tours present the 2015 Denver Modern Home Tour, an inside look at some of the most distinctive properties in the Mile High City. On Saturday, August 22, from 10am - 5pm, visitors will enjoy the day touring stunning, aspirational homes in the Denver area. The self-guided tour will end at the Sunset Idea House at 5pm, where Sunset will host a wine and cheese reception and a tour of the home with Idea House designer team - Design Platform and cky design.
Advance tickets are on sale through Friday, August 21 at 8 pm for $60 each. Tickets purchased after that time must be purchased at the Sunset Idea House beginning at 10 am on August 22 for $60 each. Children 12 and under are free.

Denver Food and Wine Festival
The Sunset Idea House is thrilled to be a part of the 11th annual Denver Food and Wine Festival, a culinary, wine and spirits classic event. Sunset will be involved in two upcoming culinary events: The Sunset Idea House Tour and the Denver Food and Wine Grand Tasting.
Sunset Idea House Tour
Presented by Denver Food and Wine and Sunset Magazine on Wednesday, September 9 from 6 – 9pm, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the stunning home and experience a delicious dinner with cuisine prepared by Denver’s celebrated chefs Gabe Kennedy - winner of ABC’s primetime show “The Taste”, Hosea Rosenberg - owner of Boulder’s Blackbelly Restaurant and Catering, and Elise Wiggins - Executive Chef of Panzano-Denver. Wine Pairings and Specialty Cocktails will also be provided by Southern Wine & Spirits of Colorado.

Denver Food and Wine Grand Tasting
Taking place at Metropolitan State University of Denver on Saturday, September 12 from 1 - 4 PM, Sunset has partnered with Denver Food and Wine for a can’t miss culinary event. Food, wine, and spirit enthusiasts will enjoy cuisine from more than 35 of Denver’s top restaurants, wine and spirit professionals pouring over 700 wines and spirits, VIP Lounge featuring 10 upscale restaurants, and Viking culinary stage demonstrations by award-winning Chefs. The goal of this event is to help raise funds for the Denver Post Community Foundation, Colorado Restaurant Association Education Foundation and Metropolitan State University of Denver.
