BalletMet Columbus Installs New WiFi Network

The WiFi Solutions Group, Columbus, Ohio, signs a deal with BalletMet Columbus to provide facility-wide WiFi. The diversified needs at the BalletMet Facilities meant that a robust WiFi Network that would provide high speed connectivity throughout the facility was required. The WiFi Solutions Group designed a network that would meet BalletMet's needs today and allow for growth in the future.

The WiFi Solutions Group specializes in Wireless (WiFi/RF) platforms representing over ten (10) world class brands. This affords the WiFi Solutions team the ability to evaluate multiple potential solutions from their arsenal of products to meet both the requirements and budget of BalletMet, an organization that operates a good portion of their operation from donations.

Daryl Kamer began the academy in 1974, but it didn’t become the BalletMet Academy until after the professional company was officially formed in 1978. Since BalletMet’s move to a 35,000-square-foot dance campus in downtown Columbus in 1990, the Company and Academy have both become recognized as institutions of local and national stature. BalletMet Dance Academy is now ranked among the nation’s largest studios associated with a professional company and offers hundreds of classes each year to students ages 3 to 84. The Academy boasts state-of-the-art studios, faculty members who have danced with companies around the world and live musical accompaniment in most ballet classes.
Special features of the Academy include early childhood, intensive and boys divisions, as well as performance opportunities that allow students to gain theatre experience. Academy students can audition for roles in company productions such as The Nutcracker and Cinderella for the chance to perform alongside BalletMet’s professional dancers. For advanced students, the Academy also offers an intensive, pre-professional trainee program. Trainees dance 30-40 hours weekly and are selected through audition. Trainees may have the opportunity to dance in Company productions.
