For the 15th consecutive year, the Trigild Lender Conference – the largest of its kind in the country – will draw a full slate of industry leaders to San Diego, with 20 educational sessions, more than 60 speakers and panelists.
San Diego, California (PRWEB) August 20, 2015
Offering unique perspectives on the global economy and the state of commercial real estate, leading economic forecaster James Smith, Ph.D. and economist Sam Chandan, Ph.D., will headline the annual Trigild Lender Conference, set for October 14 to 16, 2015, at the historic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.
In addition to the headline speakers, top commercial real estate, finance and legal industry leaders will address hot button topics related to the economy, finance, commercial real estate and the lending industries – from CMBS maturities to declining and emerging industries – at the popular annual San Diego conference.
Smith will discuss where he thinks the U.S. and global economy is heading. A participant on the forecast panels of The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Bloomberg News and Business Week, he is regularly quoted in print media around the world and has appeared on a variety of business news shows. He is currently chief economist for Parsec Financial Management, Inc, in Asheville, N.C.; professor of the practice at the Institute for the Economy and the Future at Western Carolina University; and a senior fellow and director of the Center for Business Forecasting at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at The University of North Carolina. During a 30-year career, he has been an economist and analyst at the Federal Reserve Board; the National Association of REALTORS®; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR); and Union Carbide Corporation, among others. He holds a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Southern Methodist University.
Chandan, president and chief economist for Chandan Economics and adjunct professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, will present his much-anticipated annual update on the commercial real estate industry. Well known in the commercial real estate industry for his insight and keen knowledge of fiscal policy and capital and credit markets – as well as the relationship between the economy, regulation and market performance – Chandan’s presentation each year marks a compelling culmination to the conference. Previously the global chief economist at Real Capital Analytics, he is also the editor and co-author of Real Estate Finance, a columnist for the New York Observer and GlobeSt.com and co-host of the Real Estate Hour on SiriusXM Business Radio. Chandan holds a Ph.D. in applied economics from Wharton and was a doctoral scholar in the economics department at Princeton University. In addition to his Ph.D., he holds masters degrees in economics and engineering, as well as undergraduate degrees in economics, finance and public policy.
For the 15th consecutive year, the annual event – the largest of its kind in the country – will draw a full slate of industry leaders to San Diego with 20 educational sessions, more than 60 speakers and panelists and a series of networking breaks.
With a special focus on non-performing loans, the conference is aimed at lenders, special servicers, legal counsel, investors and loan buyers. In addition to the keynote presentations, this year’s topics include: Successful Strategies for Non Traditional Loans, Bankruptcy Update, CMBS Fundamentals Refresher, CRE Funding and Investment Considerations and Legal Lightning Round Table.
