Pearl Meyer & Partners Sponsoring World T.E.A.M. Sports' Adventure Team Challenge Colorado
Eagle, Colorado (PRWEB) August 19, 2015 -- New York-headquartered executive compensation consultancy Pearl Meyer & Partners will serve as the presenting sponsor for national non-profit World T.E.A.M. Sports’ 2015 Adventure Team Challenge Colorado, an inclusive team event featuring both disabled and able-bodied athletes.
The September 18-20 Challenge at the rustic Rancho del Rio resort along the Colorado River northeast of Eagle includes river rafting, off-road bicycling, orienteering, and rock and rope activities. Teams of five athletes participate in the Challenge, with each team including two athletes with disabilities, one being a wheelchair user. Teams of military veterans and civilians compete against each other, but also cooperate in successfully completing each stage. Since the inaugural Adventure Team Challenge in 2007, all participating teams have finished. Through the active support of team members, athletes have included persons with vision impairment and blindness, paralysis, post-traumatic stress and brain injuries.
Pearl Meyer & Partners is enthusiastically participating in their third Adventure Team Challenge in four years.
“We are honored and extraordinarily proud to again be a presenting sponsor of the Adventure Team Challenge,” said Michael Enos, Chief Human Resources Officer for Pearl Meyer & Partners. “As a former participant, I can say first hand this is an incredibly inspiring, challenging, and life changing event that strengthens relationships, fosters teamwork, promotes problem solving, and brings camaraderie to the forefront. It is a powerful experience and one that our firm greatly values.”
Challenge teams are comprised of military veterans, non-profit organizations and corporations. For participating athletes, the difficulties of the stages help them gain better appreciation of the exceptional capabilities of athletes with disabilities.
“The Adventure Team Challenge always seems to amaze me,” said Gina Utegg, an accomplished Massachusetts athlete who was injured in a devastating automobile accident that ended her corporate business career. “It’s a physical, mental and strategic competition that brings out strengths and weaknesses of each team member at one point or another during the race.”
“World T.E.A.M. Sports is proud to welcome back Peal Meyer & Partners to the Adventure Team Challenge Colorado,” said CEO and President Van Brinson. “Having the strong support of companies such as Pearl Meyer allows us to continue our mission of Changing Lives through Sports. We plan to continue this relationship for years to come.”
Considered by knowledgeable adventure athletes to be among the most difficult adventure races in the United States, the Challenge is sanctioned by the US Adventure Racing Association and held under permit from the Bureau of Land Management on public lands along the Colorado River.
The 2015 Adventure Team Challenge Colorado is supported through sponsorships and partnerships from Pearl Meyer & Partners, American Portfolios, TimeCapital Investment Advisors, Benson Botsford LLC, Devens Recycling Center, The Independence Fund, Oregon Adaptive Sports, and Timberline Tours. Additional support is provided by James Benson, Jim Noland and George Puskar.
