"Not only is One Tribe extremely talented, but the band also shares our mission to promote organics, sustainability and cultural diversity in our community.”

One Tribe, a seven member reggae band, will perform live at Terressentials Friday, 8/28 from 6-9pm. Combining soulful lyrics with world music influences, One Tribe infuses an uplifting, deep message into its upbeat, original music.

In just one the year the band has risen to become a positive and sought after act, performing widely in the DC-Baltimore area.

One Tribe's success is largely due to the band's pure dedication to making the best reggaedelic music and infusing world music influences into their sound. According to One Tribe guitarist and vocalist Wade Eichner, “We are looking to push the limits of dub and bridge the gap between reggae music and other cultural sounds; most importantly, we live to play and play to move the crowd with positive energy."

Original songs like Guidance and Soul Strong combine traditional riddims, or creatively reshaped versions of existing reggae tracks, with a variety of musical influences and a powerful message. Eichner describes, “Our newest song, Grow Your Own, is about promoting self-sustainability, growing our own gardens, writing our own music, being ourselves and living a healthy lifestyle.”

These values resonate deeply with Diana Kaye, co-founder of Terressentials, a 25 year-old company which locally produces hand-crafted, certified organic personal care products in Middletown, MD and also sells fair trade and hand-crafted goods from all over the world in the company's Patrick Street store.

Diana describes the event, “We're so excited to have such an accomplished band perform at our store. Not only is One Tribe extremely talented, but the band also shares our mission to promote organics, sustainability and cultural diversity in our community.”

The upcoming event is part of Terressentials' Side Roads Sounds Project, an initiative that supports local, creative vocalists, musicians and entertainers by hosting musical performances throughout the year as a free and fun venue for the community to enjoy.

Terressentials is located at 100 E. Patrick St. in downtown Frederick.
