"I am so proud of the staff and their unwavering commitment to our patients and the greater community."

Through a lasting commitment to its mission to enhance the life of every person they serve, Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro, a leading provider of skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation services, received a deficiency-free survey from the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS). The unannounced inspection, which is conducted annually by DHS in accordance with strict guidelines administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, examined patient quality of care and quality of life, dietary services, fire safety, and environmental services.

“I am so proud of the staff and their unwavering commitment to our patients and the greater community,” says Nathan Nielsen, Administrator. “Each of our employees at Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro works with the same mission in mind, which is to enhance the life of every person we serve. And it’s through that mission and our collective dedication to our patients’ quality of life and care that we are able to achieve perfect survey results.”

No deficiencies were found at Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro, which is the first established and longest operating skilled nursing facility for the Avamere Family of Companies, during the entire State inspection period. The perfect survey score is the best score a skilled nursing center can receive and is a merit achieved by only a small percentage of skilled nursing facilities in the state. The survey process also included interviews with patients, patients’ family members and Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro employees, and a record review of documentation.

“We are so blessed to be working with all the great staff here at Avamere Rehabilitation of Hillsboro,” says Margo Spiering, Director of Nursing Services. “They work hard every day and provide quality care to our patients. We see it on a daily basis and it’s just further reinforcement that the State recognizes our passion to provide quality care.”
