“We’re very excited about the new Lead2Feed website and the opportunity it offers our participating teachers and student teams,” says Ashley Butler, Foundation Director of the Lift a Life Foundation, one of the program’s primary sponsors.
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) August 19, 2015
The new Lead2Feed.org website has officially launched to support the nation’s leading and fastest growing free service learning program for schools. In the last three years, Lead2Feed attracted more than one million students in 3,500 schools and clubs across all 50 states. The Lead2Feed student leadership program is aligned to standards such as Common Core and 21st century skills. This relevant and authentic program is making a difference in participants’ lives and the communities they are serving.
The new Lead2Feed website provides an enhanced user experience with its mobile responsive design while providing additional functionality and interactivity for registered members of the Lead2Feed program. The Carousel30 team utilized the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) to create the website.
Building upon their successful first year working with the Lead2Feed program, Carousel30 took their learning and data from website usage to plan, design and build a website that would increase usage and enhance the experience of program participants. Working in conjunction with the Lead2Feed team, as well as its Educator Advisory Board, the new website is the culmination of 12 months of strategy and research.
“We’re very excited about the new Lead2Feed website and the opportunity it offers our participating teachers and student teams,” says Ashley Butler, Foundation Director of the Lift a Life Foundation, one of the program’s primary sponsors. “As our program continues to grow and reach new audiences, it is important to have a partner like Carousel30 who truly understands how to create great experiences that connect our participants to something they are passionate about—improving their student’s leadership skills as well as the communities they live and work in.”
Lead2Feed was created by The Foundation for Impact on Literacy and Learning, Inc. and the Lift a Life Foundation, with assistance from the Yum! Foundation. Inspired by Executive Chairman of Yum! Brands and leadership expert, David Novak, the Lead2Feed student leadership program is helping to fill a gap in middle and high school education with an innovative service learning program. Throughout this leadership program, students engage with leadership lessons adapted from David Novak’s book, Taking People With You. Classroom learning comes to life for middle and high school students participating in Lead2Feed. The hands-on leadership experience is applied to projects that help alleviate hunger and other social needs in local communities. Lead2Feed student leadership program delivers one of the largest available monetary prizes for a service learning program, directly impacting local nonprofit organizations.
